Dan Ives

Co-founder and Security Lead, StreamChat AI

Dan is a co-founder of StreamChat AI and the person responsible for its security. He designed and built the platform and still writes most of its code. He decides who can access what, how streamer and viewer data is stored, how the servers are run, and he handles every security report himself.

He has been building software professionally since 2008. He studied at the University of Kent and spent his placement year as Head Lab Technician in a forensic lab at the Serious Organised Crime Agency (now part of the National Crime Agency), where he wrote search scripts for the lab's forensic software and was trusted with sensitive, confidential casework.

After that he worked as a software developer at Chaucer Digital, led the user journey testing team at SciVisum, and freelanced for clients including Nokia, Unicef and the RSPCA. He then spent eleven years at Harbour ATS, going from developer to Product Development Lead.

He co-founded StreamChat AI in 2023. Alongside it he is Head of Development at Comentis.

Reporting a problem

Found a security problem?

Email Dan using the address above. It helps a lot if you include:

  • What you found, in a sentence or two.
  • The steps to make it happen again, for example the page you were on and what you clicked.
  • The account or channel it affects, if you know.

While you are testing, please do not look at other people's data or do anything that would interrupt the service for streamers.

For anything that is not about security, the contact page is the quicker route.
